We went to a Fourth of July parade in a town nearby with some friends. I simply loved that this gentleman looked straight at me while I was taking his picture. He's a WWII Vet.
OOPS, as I was lying down ON the road in front of the flag taking the picture, I didn't realize I was blocking their walking path. That was an embarrassing moment. I moved FAST once someone pointed it out to me.
How can a juicy watermelon not be part of the celebration of Patriotism?

I can feel your pain about the lying down in their path issue... great photos!
OK - hilarious Sarah!! I love that you were on the road...and in the way. That is fantastic. Anything for a picture :)
Awesome photos. Love them.
That first photo of the wwII vet is so sweet. That flag photo was worth the embarrassment! It's such a beautiful photo! And I love the watermelon pic too which reminds me we haven't even had one yet this summer.
Hi Sarah, Just in case you don't realize it, your blogger profile is private so when you comment on someone's blog they can't click on your name to find your blog. If you want them to be able to find you, go to your dashboard and click on edit profile, then check the box that says share my profile. At least I think that's right.
Love that first photo!! Beautiful patriotic shots...
THANKS Deb!!!! Hope I did it right.
What a great time, and I adore that 1st photo. Beautiful captures!
Looks like a great parade - I love your processing.
What a neat parade! Love these pictures.
Hope you have a great day!
I love that first pic! And laying in the middle of the road while blocking the parade marchers' path is something I'd probably end up doing. lol Too funny!
Thanks for joining Alicia and I for the Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge. I hope you'll join us again next week when we tackle a new theme, critters. (Eek! I hate bugs. lol) Have a great day!
Great captures! Glad they didn't step on you :) I love that second shot!
Got a chuckle out of your story. I can so see myself doing that. And great shots! Guess it was worth it. Thanks for joining us for the Crazy Days of Summer!
